Five Fun Road Trip Games for Your Westbus Journey

Posted on

Ever heard the expression “time flies when you’re having fun”? Well, we at Westbus like to go the extra mile for our customers – no pun intended – and we thought you might appreciate a few suggestions of fun games to play on your next trip in one of our coaches or minibuses. After all, there’s nothing like a little family fun to while away a long journey!

1. I Spy

This is a classic game that surely needs no introduction. One person gives the first letter of an object that he or she can see, and everyone else tries to guess what that object is from observing what’s around them. Whoever guesses correctly gets to go next.

2. Number Plate Games

There are various games you can play involving car number plates. Trying to spot plates from as many different countries as possible is popular with children who enjoy competing with their siblings or cousins, especially if there’s a prize involved. Alternatively, take turns to think of words that include all the letters from a plate.

3. Alphabet Memory Game

A great game for two or more players, the first player begins by reciting, “I went shopping and I bought…” and then adds an item beginning with A, such as “apple”, for example. The second player then says, “I went shopping and I bought an apple and…” and adds an item beginning with B, and so on until the end of the alphabet. The sillier the items, the more entertaining the game!

4. Guess the Tune

Take it in turns to tap out the beginning of a well-known tune on the coach window. This is a fun and simple game that’s sure to get everyone breaking into song!

5. Car Bingo

This game will take a little preparation before you set off on your journey, but it’s well worth it to keep the children (and adults!) entertained. Draw some grids on sheets of paper, but instead of numbers, fill the squares with pictures of things you might see out of the coach window on your journey. These could include lorries, motorbikes, bridges, sheep, etc. The first person to tick off all the boxes and shout “bingo!” is the winner.

We hope these ideas have given you some food for thought for your next journey. Next time you’re planning a road trip with friends or family, why not hire a coach or minibus from us? It’s much more fun to travel together, especially with all those games to play! With Westbus, you can also count on an excellent quality, comfortable vehicle, so give us a call today to discuss your requirements.
